NetstopPro can be bundled with a third-party provider called PureSight by Icognito.

We have chosen to bundle NetStopPro with this dynamic filter as it is based on sophisticated proprietary Artificial Content Recognition (ACR) technology, that can “identify” the content of a site.

 

Every requested web page is inspected by PureSight’s intelligent engine to ensure its compliance with corporate, institutional, or parental acceptable use policies.

Most of today’s filtering products rely on a database of objectionable URLs maintained by the vendor. However, the largest databases don’t contain more than a few million entries. This is problematic given that the Internet consists of billions of URLs with millions more added every day.

 

Some vendors, in order to augment the shortcomings of the database, implement keyword matching solutions, to look for certain keywords in the site’s text in order to determine if it is acceptable content. However, keyword filtering is not capable of understanding the context of the words, resulting in many inaccurate decisions about permitting or blocking the content.
